The Most Common Reason A Valve Body Is Needed On These Trucks
Chrysler transmissions cause bore wear as they oscillate and stroke during operation.
This wear allows pressure loss and cross-leakage, and often permits the plugs to cock and hang up in the bore.
This can result in failsafe ( Safe Mode ), various codes, bind-ups, and burnt overdrive or 4th clutches.

Specific Details About How & Why These Need Replacement

As these models accumulate more and more miles, the internal aluminum castings begin to show signs of wear.
The valve inside the casting stroke hundred of times a day during driving.
This movement and heat causes the aluminum casting bore that supports valves to weaken.
This scoring in the valve bore causes pressure loss, soft shifts, at times even shift related check engine codes.
The repair on these entails maching the bores larger and installing oversized valves.
With these special rebuilding steps, and tooling this wear can be corrected.
These steps can help all the shift functions; allowing the vehicle to perform like new again.

This unit is completely dis-assembled , components cleaned , and reassembled.

As it is remanufactured a specific list of upgrades are installed.
Sonnax Internal Updates / Upgrades Include A Recipe Of Oversized Valves.
Sonnax Updated Solenoid Switch Valve Plugs
Heavy Duty Accumulator Cover Plate Which Is A Critical Fix On All Valve Bodies

Every valve body is test ran on a special dyno to simulate actual vehicle conditions.
This entails a vast array pressure and shift testing procedures on a pass / fail system.
Allowing for consisitent performance, and product reliability.
Additionally these can be rebuilt on a production scale which helps keep cost down for the end user.

( These may will normally have some atf fluid / oil present from the testing process - this is normal )
