Hi - Just a quick Thank You for your fast shipping your excellent videos , and your returned emails. I installed the master kit in my 42RE , and it shifts like Brand New I can't believe it. In deed the 3-4 spring was broken , I was a little scared about doing the repair , but it was pretty basic with your videos , so anyone thinking about it and have common sense can do it. I took my time and had it done in about 3.5 hrs. You offer a Great Kit that has everything i needed except the fluid. What a Great Company you have a wish more online businesses helped the consumer as much as you folks do. WILL HAPPILY USE you again !

It was more work for me to land the parking rod into the back of the transmission with the parking rod attached to the valve body. I ended up removing the parking rod and inserting it first then brought the valve body up to the rod and connected it. Then I was able to put everything back together fine. I'm not sure why I had a terrible time, but the truck shifts perfectly... Thanks for the kit, your films made it easy , and saved us a bundle.

I wanted to say thank you Robert for your help with my 42re transmission in my 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I no longer have the problems of not downshifting when I come to a stop after installing your Master Solenoid Service Kit. It has been a few weeks now and the transmission is still operating as it should. I did find the 3-4 spring in my trans was broken as expected and the pan magnet was in pieces but I found one to replace it. The install went well, I just took my time and kept everything as clean as possible. I installed the kit without pulling the valve body mostly without a hitch. I pulled the 3-4 accumulator housing and a very long spring coming out of the valve body hung up a little but it wasn't a big deal. I was worried still that switching to the newer style 4 wire harness would not be accepted by my computer but no codes or anything weird is going on, it just works like it should. This was my first time working on a transmission and your explanation of the process really helped me get through this project. I think you deserve credit for your excellent customer service! I will definitely recommend Cascade Transmission to anyone.
Thanks again, Steve

42/44RE Solenoid Service Kit 96/97

I upgraded a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 42RE, 3 wire solenoid to this more reliable, late model 4 wire system. It was throwing 21-22-23 error codes, and was in limp mode (3rd & reverse gear only).
On my 95 Jeep ZJ 4-liter 4x4 you must disconnect the front axle drive shaft, lower and move it left and tie it to the frame to get access to the shift linkage.
I could not remove the Valve Body without first disconnecting the parking rod at the VB. (The exhaust crossover pipe was in the way)
I put the linkage in low, lowered the VB by the long mounting bolts for better access.
USE EXTREME CAUTION HERE:
I then carefully pulled the E clip using a small right angle pick with a pickup magnet attached, to catch it and keep it from flying across the shop.
Or worse, disappearing inside the transmission case with the other components!
When I opened the 3-4 accumulator cover the spring was in three pieces!
I am really happy I purchased this kit, with the spring included.
If I had went with my original plan, (replacing just the Electronics) I would have never removed the accumulator cover and discovered the broken spring.
I then would have had to do this VB removal over again!.
Lastly, I changed the TCM under the dash (just to be sure all transmission electrical components are new).
Thanks Robert, for all your personal help, and a great Kit.
