I ordered this kit and it was promptly delivered. This was my first time removing a valve body with the transmission still in the vehicle. Had some challenges getting it out due to tight spaces but once I got it out installing the parts in this kit was a breeze. I would recommend having a service manual for reference and of course Cascade's videos are a huge help. Thanks for making this kit available and for the videos with great tips.

I saw a recommendation on the Jeep Forum, did some research and the owner of the company answered my emails every day without fail. He provided excellent advise and recommended the RE Master Solenoid Service Kit and to watch his videos. The kit was in my hands in Maine in two days. I did the entire kit install in about an hour. Transmission is 100%, shifts great and even the banging and lurching under acceleration going uphill is now gone !! Downshifts for passing also much better. WooHoo ! Thank You Cascade - Well Done!

I put it back together i figure i would change the spring and check that little piston and sure enough The spring was broke in half and wound down its self, so i replaced that the filter the Governor solenoid and sensor and Blam the whole thing works Great! Thanks a lot to a real God sen - the videos you guys have on you tube were the hit. Your kit was also cheaper than the what they tried to sell me at the parts store, which was a OD/lock out solenoid alone for 135.00, when i ordered a Governor Pressure solenoid. Thanks again i will definitely use you and recommend you again.

Hi,
Just wanted to give a bit of feedback on the solenoid replacement kit for a 99 42/44RE. I recieved the kit yesterday and installed it in my 1999 Grand Cherokee Jeep (Transmission in place). I have the following comments :-
1) Great kit with all the right stuff
2) Spring was indeed broken in the 3-4 accumulator.
My Jeep was continually falling back to limp home mode (3rd gear with 2nd available on the stick). Since installing the kit she appears to be fuctioning 100% so keep my fingers crossed alls sorted. Good videos on Utube also helped. Thanks alot !

All the parts you'll need in one excellent kit!

If you are in need of replacing either of the solenoid or sensors for your 42/44RE transmission you will want this kit. CTP has put together all the part numbers you need to perform the job. Trust me, you will want to change all the parts in this kit at once while you have the tranny pan down. They are within inches of each other and replaced all together will bring that snap and response back to your tired transmission.
Most parts are OEM replacements except the Governor Pressure Solenoid which is a Borg Warner upgrade. This should fix your sluggish start. And the 3-4 accumulator spring which should restore crisp shifting. I liked the Duraprene gasket which fit like a glove and eliminated the need for messy rubber gasket seal.
The only part I did not use in the kit was the wiring harness on the Lockup/Overdrive solenoid. The original harness was interchangeable and to remove the original was looking like more work than I wanted to do. So I left it in place and snapped it on the new solenoid.
I am not a mechanic and I have never worked on a transmission before but I found this incredibly easy to do. If you are a first timer like me, be sure to keep your parts dirt free and be sure to clean your tranny pan and magnet of any sludge/residue and be sure to make sure your magnet goes back in place. And NEVER reuse your tranny fluid. Replace with manufacturer suggest grade. In my case it was ATF+4.
Shipping was a lot faster than I anticipated. I needed it fast and I got it fast. I hope that I never need to order transmission parts again but I know where I am getting them from if I do.
