Most often this support fails when the governor rings cut into it.
The output shaft is supported through the case by the inside bore of this.
Additionally the Low Reverse Band Drum rides on the neck of this housing.
Due to loss of lubrication , and intense heat the friction will
often cause the drum to wear at the finished surface.
The output shaft will sometimes unevenly wear out the inside bore ;
this is not as common as the prior mentioned issues.
Both instances are normally beyond repair of this part.
This is the exact support the professional rebuilders are installing anytime they encounter a bad one.
