48RE Governor Pressure Solenoid
Rostra "Borg Warner Style" - Heavy Duty
One of the most common failures for these transmissions.
We have taken a photo Of this solenoid vs a stock solenoid - see second photo
Borg Style is pictured Left , Oem is pictured on the right.
As you can see the Borg Style solenoid is dramatically larger.
The Extra Size gives you more magnet force , more spool valve force , and 15% more flow capacity.
This solenoid will not flood out at increased line pressures.
These aspects make it ideal for high performance / towing models.
All of these qualities translate into smoother shifts , and overall better reliability.
Third Image is a scan of the Borg Style Spec/Info sheet that is included with this solenoid.
This is an Easy replacement with the transmission still in the truck.
These Do Arrive With a Mild ATF Residue on them.
Each One is Dyno Tested Before Packaging
Strong Suggestion
It is Suggested to also replace the Transducer our part # 12415C at the same time as doing this repair.
Nearly half the time both items have failed , or one has taken out the other.
Another thing to keep in mind is how many times do you want to have the pan off
Don't Forget a filter and pan gasket.

Installed 48RE governor upgrade and transducer. Nice to have the trans shifting like it should again. I thought I was going to have to tear into the whole thing. What a relief.

I have installed gov. pressure sensor and gov. solenoid on multiple trucks and I am still amazed on how well these change the way the truck shifts. I tell all my customers to get these when I do transmission services and they are just as happy. One thing to remember is that you need to adjust the bands.

Hi just wanted to say that Gov pressure solenoid is the bomb, my truck shifts so smooth and positive now with the higher pressure it is like diving an new truck, the size difference from the new part I got from you and the stock part I took out of the tranny is huge.
