This ring gear is well known for heavy spline wear, often close to only 15% of the original splines left.
These are typically really good or really bad.
As thrust is transfered onto the splines they will slowly beat away and become weak.
When the splines beat away they will feel sharp and be very thin.
In severe cases the splines will even strip away completely.
