46RH / 46RE Transmission Intermediate Shaft "B" Splines
Reconditioned Stock Replacement for 1994 Up Models

This Is Inside the Main / Front Transmission
This Ties The Main Front Section Geartrain / Drivetrain To The Rear Overdrive Planet Section.

Late Design What We Call The Updated Shaft With " B " Type Splines

This Will Fit ALL Below Automatic Transmission Types

A518 / 46RH / 46RE / 518 / A-518 / 46-RH / 46-RE
A618 / 47RH / 47RE / A-618 / 618 / 47-RH / 47-RE

Early "RH" Trucks Contain "A" Type Splines From The Factory
For 1988-1993 Trucks This Shaft Will Only Work When Updating The Front Planet To "B" Type Splines.
If You Are Replacing Your Front Main Planet Just Be Sure You're Ordering For The Matching Spline Type.

A Type To B Type Shaft Differences:

Mainly It's Where The Front Planet Mates To It And That 1.5" Front Spline Section Specifically.
"B" Type Shafts Like This One Have Slightly Improved Lube Circuits, and Why Many Prefer Them.
Some Of The Early 88-93 RH Trucks Had Issues With The Shafts Snapping,
But Once The Later Design Shaft Hit The Models We Still See Spline Wear No Breakage Though.

We aquire dozens of these from our transmission core dis-assembly department.
Many of them have journal issues, and un-acceptable spline and journal wear which we discard.

The cream of the crop ones, we inspect polish journals lightly if needed.
This is much like a remanufacture process on the shaft, but
we still class it as reconditioned so there's no confusion.
When you see an item from us that says "Remanufactured" or "Rebuilt" then that's a truly complete redone item.

If You Plan To Upgrade & Install A Steel Housing Front Planet
Those ONLY Came And Are Available In "B" Type Splines, So This Shaft Is Correct.
If You're Building The Older "A" Type 88-93 Application Then You Need This One For The Update.
